Sorry, Kobe

We at SunsGossip know the real reason Kobe didn’t play in tonight’s season opener against Phoenix. He could have played. But he wanted the Lakers to lose so that his team would appreciate how much they need him. Sorry.

Sadly, this Kobe Teaching Moment occurs at the expense of our dear Suns, who lost 114-106. Here at SunsGossip we are struggling to find meaning in it all. We’re comforted only by the fact that Raja Bell’s hair looked absolutely perfect.

Yes, yes. Next time you go to the grocery store, don't forget to pick up more salt to rub on those wounds. Thanks.

Our bad... please forgive us for lashing out during this difficult time. We'll be in better spirits after Wednesday's win...

Wednesdays win??? The Clippers have a better big man than the Lakers, so they should be able to do a better job of pounding the ball inside against you guys than the Lakers did.

nate, sad but true! They made Andrew Bynum look like a real player - 19 pts, 9 rebs, 5 assists in 23 minutes.

Bynum just turned 19 and had an active MySpace profile on draft night 2005. Suns better get it together fast.

Did anyone else hear Doug Collins say that Boris Diaw was fat? OK, he said "a little heavy" or something like that. Kinda harsh. But Diaw was a step slow last night, that's for sure.

I'm telling you, that Diaw contract is going to come back and bite them in the ass.

Yes, we heard the comment about Diaw picking up some weight! We at SunsGossip think he looks good in it, but perhaps it's slowing him down.

Coach thinks Diaw's a little pudgy, too. From Paul Coro's blog:

In case you missed this in the Sports Illustrated preview issue, here is D'Antoni's reaction to the comment that Boris Diaw had not picked up a basketball for about a month before training camp started in Italy.

"That didn't mean he had to pick up every croissant in France, did it?" D'Antoni said.

Diaw was notably bigger (and we don't mean muscle mass) at the start of the month and is still carrying some of that weight.

To get Diaw and SG's back- Diaw ain't carrying extra weight, those are just "luv handles".

This blog has been deemed unclean with all these Laker fans. You must purge yourself of the miscreants.
